Robbie Hunter makes it first stage win for South Africa, but hats off to Alexander Vinokourov and Astana today. I think the a clear win for combativity award.

Horrible choice for Most aggressive driver. A complete shame.
As the commentators said too, this race belonged to Astana and Alexander

All this means that we have a battle set up for the pyrenees and then a race for the finish.

The Champions aside, it was decent ride from Contador, finishing faster than his team leader. This guy looksa pretty good for the future .

I can understand cracking up, but veno cracked and got washed away


damn damn damn.. and he said he would be attacking today and got all worked up at the first climb only.
can't believe this is due to time trial. Something has to be wrong.

Anyway game over for veno now. Even landis like performance won't help now(he wasn't in even after 8 mins last i checked)

Superb stuff by contador. Imo if he does well tomorrow he has a great chance this year. With flat time trial still to come.
Evans will be broken. Am sure in the mountains tomorrow. Kloden is the est bet to challencge the chicken. Sastra looks like the energy has been drained out of him.

Contador vs Rasmussen. Yeah.
Leiphleimer looks steady, but he clearly lacked the acceleration to match those guys. Soler continues to impress too .. and boy! what a ride from Popovych. I've always admired his riding abilities right from his first tour de france, and he keeps getting better!
Vino's performance today was well... I'm at a loss for words really, he lost what, 29 mins ? And most of it, apparently on the final climb, cuz at the penultimate climb, he was 7mins behind the yellow jersey.

What a race.

whatever rabobank team did they could not ditch ay of the top contenders except vinokourov.

Man what a pitty for such a courageous champion, he fought like a warrior. I think he will withdraw today. No point continuing after letting in 34 minutes deficit. Another blunder astana did was they put almost all the support behind vino and no one to support kloden, perhaps who only is the one with real chance to topple dacing chicken.

Sastre does not have it in him to be a champion.

Evans was holding t he leadin bunch like a man who is holding on to a piece of wood while drowning so in upcoming two pyreenees stages he will lose it for sure.

Leipheimmer was relatively comfortable but was not able to counter the acceleration of rasmussen. He may with help of full team launch an attack today.

Man what a find this columbian Soler is, he will definitely be a force to reckon with in upcoming years in tour de rance. Organisers would not have thought that Brloworld team with a wildcard will snatch two stage victories and will be so much competitive.

Right now it looks like that the penultimate day time trial will decide who will the tour.

If Team Discovery Channel decides a strategy like they used to in Armstrong days then Contador will have an excellent chance for Yellow jersey. As he is better time trialist than levi leipheimmer. And team prize is also within discovrey team`s reach.

Keeping my fingers crossed for upcoming exciting two days.

I think Astana will win the team trial. Discovery is counting on levi and contafor while astana has 3 guys doing the pacing.

I do believe contador doeswwell today then he can get the yellow jersey for sure.

big breakaway group in 8 minutes lead to peloton.

it includes vino and two more astana riders.

no other big names inside that group excelt denis menchov.

two more climbs to come one unclassified and one category 1 so by next climb we may see an attack.

rabbobank with six riders and discovery with three riders leading thepeloton.

This guy has courage.. if only he had not crashed, he was gonna win, i am absolutely sure. This guy is phenomenal.

And contador can win this one. Rasmussen never looked comfortable with the regular attacks that contador threw at him.
