Story of Three different Phases of my Life

First Phase – Normal Life

My life had started in total luxury. I was born into a very well to do and rich family with every luxury at my fingertips, so life started with lovely parents and smoothly &when I was Five Months old, I had even been taken to Darjeeling, Hong Kong, Singapore & Bangkok with my parents for holidays but unfortunately I was too young so I have no memories of those days. Then one day when I was Four years old, my parents noticed that I used to fall more than normal kids while walking. Thus they took me to the doctor & after a muscle biopsy it came to my parent’s notice that I was suffering from a rare disease known as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy which was not curable & slowly progresses by attacking muscles bit by bit. I was young so I had no idea what Life had in store for me but…… as everyone knows life will never stop for anything.

So my life continued normally except that every other day something new was tried on me in the hope that it would stop the progression of my horrid disease. I used to go to school like normal boys. I was not too bright & used to write slowly but nobody could distinguish me from normal kids as I never behaved in any strange or abnormal way & even my parents used to treat me as any normal kid and so I never suspected that I had an abnormality inside me.

I had visited many places at that period of my life when I could walk normally for a vacation or some kind of therapy places like Mumbai, New Delhi, Kanya Kumari, Kulu Manali, Rajasthan, Chennai, Bangalore, Banaras and many more, and I that life could not be better.

My first PC was bought in 1995 & I was astonished to see what all it could do to help people to do work & play. It was truly an amazing piece of innovation & I used to enjoy playing on it, but….. As my luck would have it, life did not let me enjoy it fully & it became worse as each day passed. Then on one day, in the year 1996 when I was in Mumbai & Ten Years old I started to feel weak & walking getting up from the floor without any support became impossible for me. used to ask my parents what was happening to me but they couldn’t reply to my questions as they were afraid that I wouldn’t be able to take the trauma of such a news.
Thus my First Phase of Life came to an End at age ten.

Second Phase – The Stop of Walking & Standing

The second phase of my life started very uncomfortably as I could not walk or stand. I don’t know where I got the strength from but I never gave up my Spirit, even if I could not walk, I crawled my way through life and did everything normally .

Then one day in Mid 1996 I got to experience two more innovations called Windows 95 & the almighty Internet. Both were awesome innovations and changed my and many other people’s lives. The internet had the power to give me so much knowledge that I can’t imagine my normal & student life future without it..

In Late 1996 I got to know about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy which I was suffering from since birth but did not even cry or feel sad even a bit as I was leading a normal & happy life and I knew I would get cured someday in the future so life still continued smoothly, my faith tried to stop me from progressing but just could not diminish my courage & I started using a Wheelchair.

People used to think I have to stop going to school but my parents found a man who did all my work & used to lift me from my house to my car & from my car to the classroom. Thus I still continued living a normal live & used to go to places, visit friends etc… and in 1998 I even went abroad on a vacation to Paris, Switzerland, New York & Orlando (Disney World) and enjoyed my life to the fullest just like a normal Twelve Year Old Boy would.
Life was still very smooth & at age Fourteen I used to feel strange and after searching the internet I found out it was a phenomenon known as puberty & that my hormones were developing. Previously I used to dislike girls & still did not know how babies where born but since age Fourteen I feet attracted towards girls & wanted to find a answer to the query I had about babies but since I was not in a Co-Ed School, I never got to be friends with a girl thus I started researching my query on the Internet but never found any solid information & one day privately I asked one my seniors about it and finally got to that Nine Months after a Intimate Intercourse between a Male & Female the Female used to give birth and I was totally shocked after hearing about this astonishing procedure even more than when I had heard about my disease.

The world was advancing fast around me & I was keeping up with it. But then one day in 2002 at the age of sixteen, my back started aching & I could not sit for longer than 6 hours at a stretch and after an X-Ray my parents & I realized that my spine had curved. But I still went to Bangkok & Paris for a vacation bearing the pain during the whole trip, but after coming back it became impossible to sit & I became Bedridden. Thus I had to quit going to school after I had just started class ten but I never left hope as I knew it was just phase & everything would be normal with time.
This ends my Second Phase of my life at age sixteen.

Third Phase – Full change of my Lifestyle

The third phase of my life started at age seventeen & seemed a great start of a year. January, February & March of 2003 went great but on 3rd April, 2003 my Lungs collapsed & I caught severe pneumonia. I was hospitalized and was almost going to die but god was with me & doctors made a hole in my trachea and inserted a tracheostomy tube quickly & put me on a ventilator (life support) thus saving 50% of my life, then I was put on heavy dosage of medicine & was senseless for four days when I woke up on the fifth day I was very scared & could not talk as they were using a cuffed non fenestrated tracheostomy tube and I felt horrible.
I had to be in hospital for two months and those days were horrible when on 28th May, 2003 they put a fenestrated tracheostomy tube & then discharged me on 1st June, 2003. Then I was on Ventilator in home with an Oxygen Concentrator too & I had lost all hope for staying alive.
The whole year 2003 was horrible & I had wanted to die then on 14th February, 2004 I caught severe pneumonia again but I was in my senses this time & was hospitalized again but this time doctors increased the power of my ventilator to full & I started to much more better and energetic just as much as I was at age fifteen thus regaining my courage to continue fighting with my faith & I had been discharged from the hospital after a month on 15th March, 2004.

Yet again my life became smooth only with a slight change of lifestyle then in late 2004 I had joined Techtree.com: India's Technology Daily via Google found it to be a great website to increase my knowledge about the technology world & used to enjoy it quite a lot there.

My days were passing in Joy & Harmony & I did not mind being bedridden as I had the power of the Internet with me which used to help me with everything & off course my beloved Playstation 2 was there to help me play all the games I wanted to and was a great gizmo for entertainment thus year 2004 & early part of 2005 got crossed very smoothly just like normal life.

Then on 7th November, 2005 I came to know about a forum named TechEnclave via a fight between me & a TechEnclave member Nikhil on Techtree.com: India's Technology Daily about which forum was the best (Techtree or TechEnclave). Henceforth, I joined TechEnclave and then I realized that Techtree was just a lame website which used to give false information. When I gave my Intro on TechEnclave I realized that it was full of amazing, kind hearted & very Helpful people by the amount of Replies to my Intro even after knowing my condition, I was totally amazed by the Forum & due to TechEnclave I turned from just another amateur PC user to a Pro & now I have a amazing PC which I can overclock too and I make many people envy me too.

I get depressed once in a while but my great friends from TechEnclave always help get out of it and continue with my life.

Now my life is going just perfect & I have started chasing the line of Imaginative & Real Life based Story Writing all thanks to the encouragement of my great friends.

Now I’ am going be Twenty One years old on 13th February, 2007 & will enjoy each and every day of life I have in this World expecting a cure for my disease & a glorious and happy future.

This Ends the Story of Three different Phases of my Life

Those 3 phases of your life makes me want to hate myself whenever I start cribbing at things which seem only like a mere particle compared to what you have to go through, Udit. Don't lose hope. Keep checking the internet for any news regarding the disease but at the same time you must not let the disease shadow over your emotions. You have greatly summed up your life, please continue being an inspiration to us Yours is a story I will not forget for a lot of time to come.
